The Prevaricators were a hardcore/punk band from Richmond, Virginia, USA. They played a mid-speed, rock n' roll influenced style of early 80s punk. Lyrically, the band was similar to the more comedic punk bands of the 80s, with songs like "Hanky Panky", "I'm So Cool" and "Livin' in Khaki".

They released several records in the mid 1980's and developed a loyal following in the Richmond punk scene. They had 2 EPs & 2 LPs and were featured on the extremely rare Virginia punk compilation, Tarantula on my Cock tape.
