Real name: Jookoo Horia

Jookoo Horia was born on the border between Iraq and Syria. As a child, he is taken by his parents, fleeing the repression of Orthodox Christians, to Chicago, USA, where they settle and can start a better life. There he comes into contact with the guitar and lute, studies blues and also the music of his ancestors. In 2000 he arrived in Jerez in love with flamenco. He gets Moraíto Chico to accompany a recording of his grandfather, demonstrating the closeness between certain flamenco styles (la soleá, la seguiriya) with the music of his ancestors.
