US jazz, blues and R&B singer and actress (June 20, 1925 – July 4, 1971).

First became known to a wider audience in 1952 Stan Kenton discovered her and got her a contract with Capitol that released a number of singles with her in the early 50's. It was also Kenton who suggested her stage name Georgia Carr. In the 60's she recorded for Vee-Jay Records that released Rocks In My Bed, her best known album.
