Biography
VAMPI
Real name: Samuel Barbier-Ficat
Originally from Bordeaux, Samuel Barbier-Ficat (aka VAMPI) is a multidisciplinary contemporary artist, composer and producer. He grew up drawn into the Industrial scene, touring extensively around Western Europe. A move to London three years ago precipitated a shift the freedom to begin presenting performance art in London’s fertile experimental art scene. Samuel’s artistic journey started at the music conservatory in France where he classically trained for twelve years as a pianist, guitarist and saxophonist, before discovering electronic as his preferred medium in music making. He is known for his highly identifiable, genre-agnostic productions, in particular his abstract textural sonic approach.
