Pushtwangers

Effective period / Period of releases: 1984 - 1991

Members: Peter Liljander, Michael Lundborg, Erik Forslin, Gustaf-Adolf Krantz, Nome (3), Zeke Saell

Pushtwangers was a Swedish rock group from Stockholm, active 1983-1991, in their main set consisting of Anders "Nome" Norman (vocals), Gustaf-Adolf "Krasse" Krantz (guitar, vocals), Peter Liljander (keyboards), Zeke Säll ( bass guitar), Mikael Lundborg (guitar) and Erik "Forsen" Forslin (drums).

Pushtwanger's style could almost be described as a mixture of classic punk (Sex Pistols, Ramones, etc.) and catchy 1960s pop (Beach Boys, Beatles etc). A majority of the band's songs are guitar-oriented and keep a high tempo at a steady four-quarter tempo. The sound is hard and raw, but the music generally has a rather "poppy" character and would probably be considered too well-polished to be classified as pure punk. Some would use the word garage rock to best describe Pushtwanger's style.
