Extreme progressive / folk / death metal band from Russia.
Formed in 2004 under the name "Velial", the band was playing symphonic black metal. After a line-up change at the beginning of 2005, the band's name became Kartikeya and Arsafes (guitarist / composer) began to write music based on different sub-genres of metal and oriental melodies, instruments and mythology, thus the band's music style changed.
The band itself calls their own music "Ethnocore".
As of July 2020 Kartikeya is a project of only two members: Anton Mars and Roman Arsafes.
