Active from November 1981 to September 1982. Punk rock / R&R band from Tokyo with hardcore punk roots. Initially called Breaking Generation, Route 66 is most noted for being a part of prominent early-80s punk live event series such as Emotional Market, Tam's ADK Day, or Gauze's Shōdoku Gig.

Their bass player Akio Ishii previously played in 病原体 (Byōgentai) with members of Middle Class (2) and The Willard in the early 1981. The drummer Kazuya Kondō was also in Middle Class.

The band played two reunion shows in 2011.
