Cuban band founded in 1969 by trumpet player Luis Escalante and arranger/flute/saxophone player Armando Romeu, Jr. with members from the previously existent "Orquesta Juvenil de Música Moderna" (founded in 1967 by Adolfo Pichardo).First directed by Armando Romeu, Jr., and later by Rafael Somavilla, Tony Taño and German Pifferrer.
