Based in Melbourne, Australia — The Dumb Earth formed circa. 1994, from the ashes of Adelaide band The Lizard Train (both Chris Willard & David Creese were founding members of Lizard Train). Writer Andy Turner described The Dumb Earth's sound as a 'brain-melting amalgamation of avant-garde jazz and slide guitar'.
