New Zealand post-punk band. Formed out of first generation Wellington punk band Smashed Executive. The Digits played at the first Wellingtonzone concert in 1981 and have two tracks on the live recording compilation. An article by Gary steel in In Touch magazine describes them as "Not your run-of-the-mill band, The Digits are in the enviable position of being a non-commercial band which vehemently avoids being trendy - their music which although quite experimental doesn't make new wave concessions. Their Wellingtonzone gig was ample demonstration of the ultra-trendies reaction: ultra-negative!"
The Digits recorded at Sausage Studios and Marmalade and released a couple of hard to find records before splitting up in 1982.
