Based in Lisbon, the portuguese producer and live performer Mechanique started his career in 1998, inspired by the industrial influences of Nitzer Ebb and Front 242. From there, he rapidly evolved into the soundscapes of Techno, having his debut vinyl EP "Hookers on Dope" on the portuguese label Kaos Records in 2003.

He has, since then, steadily explored the deeper, atmospheric side of electronic music.

He also signs as his alias Sphitzio and Tmesis, both directed towards deeper, darker soundscapes.

Mechanique also performs as Live and DJ, and runs his label Benthic Recordings.
