Canadian singer, songwriter and guitarist born December 6, 1948 in Toronto. Grew up in Northern Ontario, left for the US in 1966 where he bought his first instrument, a banjo, and taught himself how to play. He bounced around Canada and the US until settling in Montreal in late 1969, where he signed a publishing deal with Gordon Lightfoot's Early Morning Music in June 1970 and was soon picked up by Apex. In the late 1970s joined with Danny McBride and Bill King to form China.
