Ahmed Rami

Real name: أحمد محمد رامى

August 9, 1892 - June 5, 1981

Famous egyptian poet who wrote lyrics for singers Oum Kalthoum and Mohamed Abdel Wahab. He also translated some of Shakespeare's plays and the famous quatrains of the Persian poet Omar Khayyám. He was named "Poet of the youth" in recognition of his considerable contributions to the Arabic song.
