Middleton, Manchester, home of the Inspiral Carpets and Chameleons, also produced Sister Rain in 1987. The band's main release was entitled 'Burt Reynolds' a four-track 12" vinyl. It was produced at 'Suite 16' studios (formerly 'Cargo') in Rochdale by former Chameleons member Dave Fielding in 1988. Sister Rain played dates in Le Puy in central France at that time. Due to the band's Rochdale connection (twintown of Bielefeld) they played a short tour in Germany in 1990 of Bielefeld, Paderborn, Cologne and some smaller towns.
