Real name: Ginette Marguerite Auger

Geneviève was born Ginette Marguerite Auger in Paris on April 17, 1920 and died March 14th, 2004 at her home in Los Angeles.
She became popular in the US after her debut appearance on the Jack Paar Show in November of 1957. As noted in her New York Times obituary, she is: "...best remembered for her unfailing ability to mangle the English language during regular appearances on Jack Paar's ''Tonight Show...'' Previous to arriving in America she had run a small night club in Paris named "Chez Geneviève", which had opened in 1949. Her other early fame came in 1958 as a star in John Kenley's production of Cole Porter's "Can-Can".
