Famous female Merengue orchestra that initially started in 1982 as Belkis Concepcion Y Las Chicas Del Can.
They released successful albums which gained gold and platinum status.
In 1992, the original Las Chicas Del Can changed their name into Miriam Y Las Chicas (lead singer's name is Miriam Cruz) due to contractual differences.
This original group continued performing and releasing more albums.
Also, a new group of girls was quickly put together that operated under the name Las Chicas Del Can and they've released 3 albums (Explosivo, Botando Chispa + Derramando Sueños).
