American singer, actress and TV/radio announcer.
Born October 12, 1927 in Inglewood, California.
Died February 9, 2002 in Cambria, California.
A regular of "Don McNeill's Breakfast Club" in the early 1950's, Taylor recorded for a host of labels throughout her career including Mercury, Decca, Starlite Records and Top Rank International, and performed in various clubs in and around the Hollywood area as well as in Las Vegas with Red Skelton and around the world. Perhaps most famous as the resident singer and occasional sketch performer on Stan Freberg's short-lived 1957 CBS Radio show. Later in her career, she joined NBC in Burbank, CA as their West Coast staff announcer and also handled local booth duties for the network's Los Angeles TV station, KNBC (Channel 4), a position she held from 1973 until her retirement around 1989.
