Biography
Vunka
VUNKA is the new band of argentine musician and producer Gerardo Farez, going back to his roots as a drummer, combining drums, octapads, synthesizers and voices, songs and instrumental moments. Conceived in 2021 at a distance during the pandemic, the project was completed in 2022 by Gerardo Farez (drums/synths/vocals), Alito Spina (bass/synth), Nazareno Zavala (guitar/synths/vocals) and Vale Vivero (vocals/percussion/octapad).
As part of the Twitin Records label, in 2021 he released his first single "Caudal" with the collaboration of singer Barbarita Palacios, co-authored by Charlie Desidney, produced and mixed by renowned producer Tweety Gonzalez. In February 2023, he released his second single ¨Sueño Carnaval¨ with a feat by EVLAY, also produced and mixed by Tweety, anticipating what will be the band's first EP.
Since 2022 they have been performing live, taking the proposal to different stages of the Federal Capital and Greater Buenos Aires.
Vunka is ¨outsider¨ in Bulgarian and ¨culture¨ in Japanese. A proposal where the songs are tinged with experimentation, powerful grooves, processed electric guitars, synthesizers, wind instruments, electronic beats and melodic harmonized voices. Songs in Spanish traveling from the south of Latin America, between melodies, choruses, instrumental moments, urban beats and processed audio.
