Punk band from Gothenburg, Sweden, active 1978 - 1980.

Local politician Bertil Wijk gave the band its name when he considered punk rockers to be perverted individuals. Perverts hung in the starting pit long before Freddie Wadling took pity on them and lent himself as a guitarist. They recorded the song Ronka on vinyl and over the years it has become a classic. Legendary BBC DJ John Peel played the record in one of his programs. Everyone was aware that Freddie was only a temporary resource, so they picked the former Liket Lever guitarist Mats Drougge in the band. With Mats in the group, they went out to play sometimes outside of Gothenburg, and everything was peace and joy, the single Nevergreens was recorded, but then Perverts suffered from "Yoko Ono syndrome". Mats disappeared and the band took in Jörn Nielsen who played on the band's last appearance. They also tested Anders Puke, but the air had gone out of Perverts and they disbanded in 1980. But at Swedish Punk 25 years, a reunited Perverts was finally on stage and everyone who was there got to sing in Ronka.
