Charles Wildman
Real name: Wilhelm Mattes
Austrian composer, arranger and conductor, born 4 January 1916 in Vienna, Austria and died 30 July 2002 in Salzburg, Germany. Worked as a composer and arranger for UFA and TOBIS until 1944, and for Swedish radio (Sveriges Radio) from 1944 - 1951. Since 1951 conductor at Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) in Munich. Composer of around 60 film scores. From 1964-74 chief conductor at the Süddeutscher Rundfunk Stuttgart (SDR); from 1975-80 head of entertainment music department at RIAS Berlin.
