American Gospel group, formed in 1945 at Highway Baptist Church in Chicagoand still active today. The group helped launch the careers of several stars,
including Lou Rawls, Johnnie Taylor and Sam Cooke.
Spencer Taylor joined it in 1956, became the HQC's leader, and has remained so for over 60 years.
