Mammút is a 5-piece band from Reykjavik, Iceland. The band was formed in 2003 as a trio named ROK highlighting vocalist Kata (Katrína Kata Mogensen). Initially the band was an all girl band, but early in 2004 the band expanded into 5 members by including guitarist Arnar Pétursson and drummer Andri Bjartur Jakobsson. At that time they also adopted the new name Mammút. The band is considered an indiepop, indierock, post punk and psychedelic alternative Icelandic band.
