Vanishing Heat started as a side project between Darrin Huss (Brood) of Psyche, and Kevin Komoda (Kain) of Rational Youth who released "Hallucination" on LP, and CD in 1989/90
Darrin then went on to produce The Itch CD on the Music From The Empty Quarter label in 1993 with Richard Blohm who had also recorded Psyche's debut album "Insomnia Theatre" as well as "Daydream Avenue" and "Intimacy". "Undertow" came to digital, and streaming as a compilation of the two albums in 2006
