Metal Machine Ascension is Shane Hartman from Stratford, Ontario Canada. Immersed in the strange worlds of tape music, psychedelia and improvised sounds, he has recorded under his own name and MMA since 2021. He can also be found behind synths, tape machines and effects pedals attempting to play guitar with Underground Mountains.

He produces the online radio show Acid Test Radio, heard weekly via svpradio.com and midtownradio.ca
