American steel guitar player and record producer.
Born January 25, 1924 Springfield, Missouri, USA.
Died November 15, 2003 (aged 79) Broken Bow, Oklahoma, USA.
Father of Gary Speedy West, Jr. and grandfather of Andrew "Gambit" West.

Speedy recorded over 6,000 songs durting his lengthy musical career. He recorded with many famous singers and bands including: Roy Rogers, The Sons of The Pioneers, Tenneessee Ernie Ford, Bing Crosby, Loretta Lynn, Frankie Laine, The Modenaires, Dinah Shore, and many others.
Speedy West was inducted into The International Steel Guitar Players Hall of Fame 1980.
