Contagion
Effective period / Period of releases: 1992 - 2011
Members: Keith Arem, Jack Boughner, David Smith (5), Mical Pedriana
Contagion formed in 1988 using the name Biohazard PCB. After several independent releases, the group signed with World Domination Recordings, a development arm of Capitol Records. With the release of Contagion - Contaminant PCB in 1992 they had adopted their current name. North American tours with fellow industrial acts Front Line Assembly, Nine Inch Nails and Die Warsaw and a remix of the song "Turn of the Screw" by members of Skinny Puppy raised the group's profile. "Hate", a single from 2000's Contagion - Infectant appeared on five motion picture soundtracks. A new album set for 2008 was axed after fire destroyed the band’s recording studios. A career spanning compilation Contagion - Omnibus appeared in 2011. The band has turned up on several video game soundtracks (“Recoil”, “Metal Fatigue”, “X-Men”, “The Walking Dead” and "Thrill Kill") and their next project, to be titled Outbreak, is tied to the INFEX video game.
