Iskra is a Canadian thrash, black metal and crust project founded in Victoria, British Columbia in 2002. The band is well known for crossing extreme musical genres thereby experimenting with the creation of new sub-genres. Although Iskra is credited with the creation of the "Blackened Crust" sub-genre, most releases are more in the vein of Thrashing Black Metal with some Crust Punk and Grindcore elements.
