Robinson was Liberace's musical director, arranger & conductor.
Born iin Toronto, Canada, grew up in Galveston, Texas, USA.
Robinson's family moved to the United States when he was a boy of 12 or 13. After awhile, he worked only for Liberace, a six-months-a-year job that allows him half a year- to catch up on the work around the home and social activities. He was proficient in many instruments. His father worked as a piano mover.
Gordon joined the Liberace show in 1952 as musical arranger and orchestral director. He later became dean of music at Louisiana State University. During World War he had led an Air Corp 8 band at Sheppard Field, Texas.
