Machitun combine traditional and contemporary Latin American and original music. Machitun, "gathering of wise women", consisting of four women: Marisol Pacheco (from Chile), Mabelle Gardiol (from Uruguay), Julie Bassett (from Tasmania, Australia) and Paola Tulley (from Venezuela). Born from the partnership of Marisol Pacheco and Mabelle Gardiol in 1985, Machitun expanded to a quartet and released their first CD 'Passion Latina' in April 1995.
