Italian operatic singer, film and stage actress.
Born 14 May 1936 in Pesaro, Italy. She's the sister of Carla Alberghetti.
She was the daughter of a concertmaster father and pianist mother. By age six she was performing with symphony orchestras with her father as her vocal instructor.
In 1962, Anna Maria Alberghetti and Diahann Carroll tied for the Tony Award for Lead Actress in a Musical. Anna Maria won for "Carnival!" and Diahann won for "No Strings".
