In March 1987, Bill Morris was assaulted on the way home from a show, resulting in major head injuries from which he would not fully recover. He was unable to continue as the band's drummer, although was able to contribute lyrics. Wazzo Ghoti recorded and played shows in the late-1980s / early-1990s with a succession of different drummers.
In 2018 / 2019, Wazzo Ghoti reformed and played shows around the release of the (Pronounced: "Fish") compilation. These shows included Bill Morris as a drummer.

In the 2000s, some of the band members formed a spinoff group "Wazzo Clash", that paid tribute to The Clash by playing songs written or performed by The Clash.
