Claes Dieden

Real name: Claes Ove Dieden

Effective period / Period of releases: 1968 - 1969

Swedish singer, songwriter and radio personality, born 4 June 1942 in Hedvig Eleonora parish in Stockholm, died 11 March 2021 in Adolf Fredriks parish, Stockholm.

He was a member of Science Poption from 1965 to 1967, before he made his solo debut. He was on top ten with the song Da Doo Ron Ron in 1969 and on the Svensktoppen with "Hit kommer jag nog inte mer" in 1970.

In the early 1970s, however, he left the musician's career and instead focused entirely on the career as a radio announcer he had already started in 1964 on Sveriges Radio. Here he was one of the first to launch a less formal way of advertising programs and music, inspired by American disc jockeys. During the 1990s, Dieden was an announcer for the radio station NRJ, where he was heard for many years. When NRJ then changed its voice, the local Stockholm competitor Power Hit Radio took over. His voice was also heard on Vinyl 107. His characteristic voice has also been heard in many commercials.
