American country and gospel singer.
Born December 31, 1938 near Northfield, Minnesota, USA. Graduated from Northfield High School in 1956.

She started singing in church at age 3, and began her professional career singing in nightclubs and piano bars around Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Signed with Nashville's Mega (2) Records in 1973, and achieved chart success with One Day At A Time. Career recognition included Cashbox Magazine's "Best New Female Artist" award, an ASCAP award, and an Academy of Country Music nomination. Inducted into Minnesota Country and Rock Hall of Fame in 2004 and Minnesota Music Hall of Fame in 2009.
