Delores Popowick (née Lewis) is a lyricist originally from Beckley, WV who relocated to Cornwall, NY. She is the founder and sponsor of Project Appalachia, a charity for clothing distribution in the Appalachian Mountains. In the summer of 1968 she organized a musical jamboree in Middletown, NY, to raise funds for the charity, and performed there as well with her songwriting collaborators The Country Brothers (pictured with her).
