French jazz guitarist.
Founding member in early 70s of the cult jazz-rock band Spheroe, following the demise of the group in 1979, Michel Perez becomed a very popular jazz guitarist. In 1984, he opened for Miles Davis at the Vienna and Nice festivals. He participated in Bertrand Tavernier's film "Around Midnight" alongside Herbie Hancock, Tony Williams, Wayne Shorter. Michel Perez performed under his name and recorded with various groups such as Kaléïdoscope (1982), Virgile (1986), Ron Carter (1986). 1993), Orange (1991), Matio Stanchev (1996). Subsequently, he was part of the acoustic trio Traveling Jazz, accompanied Benny Golson on tour, played with Storias in 2005 and recorded Double détente as a duo with Diégo Imbert in 2012, among others.
