American Gospel singer, songwriter and author.
Co-founded the Southern Gospel group The Hemphills with her husband Joel Hemphill. The couple signed with Canaan Records in 1966 to record as a duo then soon followed with the group.
Born in 1940 in Flat Creek, Alabama, USA.
Died December 9, 2015, age of 75 in Nashville, Tennesse, USA.
Mother of Joel Hemphill, Jr. (Joey), Trent Hemphill, and Candy Hemphill, who joined them on stage.
She was added to the Southern Gospel Music Association Hall Of Fame in 2017.
