Giusy Ferreri, born Giuseppa Gaetana Ferreri (Palermo, 18 April 1979), is an Italian singer-songwriter.
After several musical experiences with various bands and as a soloist, she achieved fame in 2008 by placing second in the first Italian edition of the X Factor talent show and publishing the hit single Non ti scordar mai di me.
In her career she has obtained various awards, including an Italian Videoclip Award, a Lunezia Award, a Sanremo Hit Award, two Venice Music Awards, five Wind Music Awards and the international European Border Breakers Awards.
You participated in four editions of the Sanremo Festival, in 2011, 2014, 2017 and 2022 respectively with Il mare immenso, I'll take you to dinner with me, It hurts so badly and Miele.
He currently holds two records: he is the artist who remained at number 1 in the Italian singles chart for the longest time (47 weeks, with the songs Non ti scordar mai di me, Novembre, Roma-Bangkok, Amore e capoeira and Jambo) record previously held by the singer Madonna with 38 weeks and is the only Italian artist, together with Baby K, to have obtained a diamond disc for a digital single, thanks to Rome-Bangkok. As of 2022, she appears to be the third singer launched by an Italian talent show to have sold the most copies in the world with around 2,850,000 albums and singles, behind Alessandra Amoroso and Marco Mengoni, but she was the first to have also obtained certifications abroad .
