American jazz vocalist born July 31, 1938 in Chicago where she attended Dunbar High and then started her singing career. Her vocal cover of "Desafinado" hit #78 on the Billboard Pop Hot 100. She died in March 1992 in her Los Angeles home.Thomas was one of eight children, her brother is Earl "Teddy" Thomas and her sister, Mildred Thomas of The Argo Singers.
