The Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR) is a German public-law radio and television broadcaster, based in Hamburg, it was created in 1954 by the separaration of the Nordwestdeutscher Rundfunk (NWDR) into the NDR and the Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR).
It has various own ensembles, among others the NDR Chor, the NDR Sinfonieorchester, The NDR Big Band, and the Radio-Philharmonie Hannover Des NDR (also appearing as the NDR Hannover Pops Orchestra).
