In the ‘70’s and ‘80’s John worked as the booking agent for "The Rat" in Kenmore Square and "The Bellboy" in Scituate Harbor in addition to writing music, engineering and performing. His bands included Susan, Foreign Legion, and, in later years, Riser. In ‘90’s John co-wrote and recorded a number of songs with Benjamin Orr of The Cars. Later, while touring with Ben’s band, ORR, John played guitar and also served as band-leader. From 2002 to 2003 John recorded a solo album, Mirage, after first building his own state of the art facility, Black Hole Studios. Mirage was released two months before his passing.
