Herbert Menges

Conductor and composer (27 August 1902 – 20 February 1972), he founded the Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra and directed it from 1925 to 1972, he also conducted in London theatres and composed music for many Shakespeare plays. He was the father of English cinematographer and film director Chris Menges.
