Leonard Auletti

Real name: Leonard Louis Auletti

American songwriter, composer, jazz pianist, bandleader and teacher.
Born June 17, 1901 in California.
Died November 21, 1987 (age of 86) in Santa Clara, California, USA.
Best known for co-writing "The Bunny Hop" with Ray Anthony, which became one of the dance crazes of the 1950's. The song charted twice in the U.S., first by Ray Anthony and His Orchestra in 1952, hitting #13. In 1959, it charted by the U.S. band The Applejacks at #70.
His other compositions include “Nob Hill Strut”, written with Ursula Williamson Hale, and “You Gotta Have Swing”. In the 1940's he was performing as a jazz pianist. For a time, he also had his own orchestra.
