Danica Filiplič was the first female singer in the famous Ansambel Bratov Avsenik.

She was born on January 11, 1925 in Šentvid near Ljubljana, Slovenia and launched her career singing traditional songs with Tone Kozlevčar. In 1949 she started singing with Franc Koren and they became a popular duet. In 1954 they sang for the first time with Ansambel Bratov Avsenik. At the end of 1961 she was replaced by Ema Prodnik. During the "Avsenik" period she was singing for a year and a half in the group Zadovoljni Kranjci.
Her next and last ensemble was the Slovenski Muzikantje, later known as Janes Kalšek Und Sein Oberkrainer Sextett (Ansambel Janeza Kalška).

Danica Filiplič died on October 19, 1995.
