Formed in 2006 by Khalil Abouabdelmajid, Bambara Trans is a multi-ethnic fusion band from Montreal.with musicians coming from various backgrounds such as Morocco, Quebec, France and Nova Scotia. Their music is Inspired by traditional rhythms from the four corners of the world. Bambara Trans merges at will to create melodies of their own, which cannot be labeled with any particular musical genre. The name of the group comes from the alliance of Bambara, one of the languages spoken in sub-Saharan Africa, but also the sung language of the Gnawi, and the prefix Trans, which means transformation..
