Classical pianist, born 10 July 1950 in Bulawayo, Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe). He came to London in 1967 to study at the Royal Academy of Music, which he left in 1972. He then continued studies with Gerald Moore and Geoffrey Parsons.In 1976 he formed The Songmakers' Almanac to explore neglected areas of piano-accompanied vocal music.
