Born in Whitechapel, London, on 30th June 1959 of an Irish mother and an English father, singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Brendan Perry's first musical outputs were as a member of New Zealand punk rock band The Scavengers, under the pseudonym of Ronnie Recent. He remained a member when they became The Marching Girls in 1979 and left in 1981.
He became a member of the seminal Dead Can Dance the same year and recorded eight albums with the group before they split in 1998.
After the breakup of Dead Can Dance, Brendan Perry assisted Hector Zazou on his 1998 album "Lights In The Dark" and former bandmate Peter Ulrich, whose "Pathways & Dawns" Perry co-produced and arranged.
His first solo album "Eye Of The Hunter" was released in 1999 on his longtime label, 4AD. Brendan reunited with Lisa Gerrard in 2005 for a Dead Can Dance world tour. For many years
Brendan owned Quivvy Church in County Cavan in Ireland, which he converted into a recording studio. He now lives in France, working from his studio at Ker Landelle Studios
