Miss Ryan's career began while she was a student at San Antonio State College and the University of Texas at Austin. Following the success of her first record and another, "Plaything," she joined the Del Reeves Country Carnival, syndicated television show. This let to other television appearances on Hee Haw, the Wilburn Brothers Show and the Grand Ole Opry.
