Rohdes Rockers

Effective period / Period of releases: 1976 - 1988

Members: Hans Edler, Jan Rohde, Staffan Stenström, Johnny Landenfeldt

Swedish rock band their heydays were 1976-79. In mid-1979, the band disbanded.

They were mainly successful in Scandinavia but also toured in e.g. Poland & East Germany. Jan Rohde himself often entered the stage riding a motorcycle. His stage clothes were clearly inspired by Elvis' 70s period plus a cowboy hat to hide the thinning hair... On stage, Rohdes Rockers was a guarantee of a full crowd, with a lot of rock classics mixed in with some of his own songs, and the constant parade number was the tragic story of Tommy and Laura in "Tell Laura I Love Her" (Part 1,2,3,4...). On the record front, 6 records in 4 years, the band may not have succeeded as well if you look at sales figures, but all the records are clearly approved. The best are of course the live albums which are also of course NOT released on CD.
