The Rococo Ensemble was created by Анатолий Быканов around 1965. The studio collective, its basis consisted of musicians of the Большой Симфонический Оркестр Всесоюзного Радио. The ensemble did not have a permanent cast of performers. In the mid-1970s, the project management passed to the famous flutist and conductor Александр Корнеев.
The secret of this popularity was that the ensemble had its own unique face.The works performed by him were a pop stylization of "rococo" - one of the styles of French music of the 18th century.
