American singer/songwriter.Born 1948, Texas Died 14 April 2014, San Francisco (65 years old).
Best known as the singer for Lamb, the San Francisco band of the late 1960s and early 1970s who put out three albums mixing lots of different styles of music together. She wrote much of Lamb's poetic material, both alone and with fellow Lamb member Bob Swanson. The Pointer Sisters covered her song "River Boulevard" in 1973.
After the band had its day, Mauritz went solo. She continued to perform and write, composing music for many commercials.
